Privacy Policy
Short version: this site collects nothing until you press Accept, the game keeps your save on your own PC, and nobody buys or sells your data. The long version is below, and it only describes things we actually do.
Who we are
EffigyStudio develops and publishes Shift Heroes: Auto Battler and operates this website. We are the data controller for everything described here. Contact for any privacy question or request: [email protected].
This website
The site sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts until you choose "Accept" in the consent banner. If you never accept, nothing is collected and no external request is made.
If you do accept, we load Microsoft Clarity, an analytics tool that helps us see how the page is used — which sections people read, where they click and scroll, and where they leave. Clarity records:
- page views, clicks, scroll depth and mouse movement on this site;
- your browser, operating system, screen size and referring page;
- an approximate location (country/region) derived from your IP address.
We do not use Clarity to identify you, and we never enter personal data into the pages it records. Microsoft processes this data as our processor under Microsoft's privacy statement. Legal basis: your consent.
The site runs on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes connection data (IP address, request time, user agent) to serve the page and to block abuse. We do not build profiles from it.
There is no advertising, no ad network, no tracking pixel, no newsletter signup and no contact form on this site.
The game
Your save lives on your own computer. Progress, settings and your roster are written to a local file on your PC. We do not need it and we cannot read it unless you send it to us yourself (for example, attached to a bug report).
Shift Heroes requires an internet connection to play: progress is validated on our servers, and features such as guilds and shared bosses are server-side by design. To do that, the game sends and receives:
- an account identifier for your game account;
- gameplay progress and events, used to validate that progress and to keep online features consistent;
- technical information needed to serve the request (such as the game version).
This is used to run the game and to stop cheating — nothing else. Legal basis: performance of the contract (providing the game you chose to play) and our legitimate interest in a fair, working game. The game contains no advertising SDK and no third-party analytics.
If you play through Steam
Steam is operated by Valve Corporation. Your Steam account, purchases, wishlist, reviews, playtime and any Steam Cloud storage are handled by Valve under Valve's privacy policy, not by us. We only ever see what Steam shares with developers in aggregate, and we never receive your payment details.
Mail sent to any address at shiftheroesautobattler.com is routed by
Cloudflare Email Routing to a mailbox hosted by Google. We keep support
mail for as long as it takes to answer you and to keep a record of the issue, then delete
it. We do not add you to any mailing list.
Your rights
If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, you have the right to access your data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to its processing, receive a copy of it, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to [email protected] and we will answer within 30 days. You may also complain to your national data protection authority.
Deleting your game account removes the progress and account data held on our servers. Ask by email from the address you can be reached at, and tell us your in-game account identifier.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date below and announce it on our Discord.
